Photo Size

  • The passport photo must be in color.
  • The photo must measure 3.5 centimeters in width and 4.5 centimeters in height.
  • The photo must show the applicant’s full face from the front.
  • The entire head must be visible in the photo, from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin.
  • The height of the head in the photo must measure between 3.2 centimeters and 3.6 centimeters.
  • The photo must have been taken within the last six months before the application date.


Photo Quality and Background

  • The photo must be printed on photographic paper.
  • A photo printed on regular paper is not acceptable.
  • The photo must be clear and must have an even surface.
  • The photo must not have ink marks, creases, stains, or damage.
  • The photo must not be edited or modified using Photoshop or any other editing software.
  • The background must be plain white.
  • The background must not have a frame, pattern, shadow, or object.
  • No other people or objects may appear in the photo.
  • There must be no shadows on the applicant’s face or on the background.
  • There must be no flash reflection on the applicant’s face or on the background.


Face Direction and Facial Expression

  • The applicant’s face and shoulders must face the camera directly.
  • The applicant must not turn the face or body to one side.
  • The applicant must keep the mouth closed.
  • The applicant must have a natural and neutral facial expression.
  • The applicant must not smile, frown, or make any exaggerated facial expression.
  • The whole face must be visible from the forehead to the chin.
  • The applicant’s face must not be covered by hair, accessories, clothing, or any other item.


 Eyes, Pupils, and Glasses

  • The applicant’s eyes must look directly at the camera.
  • The applicant’s eyes must be clearly visible.
  • The applicant’s eyes must not be covered by hair, glasses, or any other object.
  • Red-eye photos are not acceptable.
  • The applicant must not wear colored contact lenses.
  • The applicant must not wear tinted glasses or sunglasses.
  • There must be no flash reflection on the pupils or glasses.


Clothing and Accessories

  • The applicant must not wear white clothing that cannot be distinguished from the white background.
  • Pale-colored clothing is allowed if it can be clearly distinguished from the background.
  • The applicant must not wear a hat or any other head covering.
  • Religious clothing is allowed only if the applicant wears it daily.
  • Religious clothing must not cover the applicant’s face.
  • The whole face must remain visible from the forehead to the chin.
  • A turtleneck, scarf, or similar item is allowed only if it does not cover the outline of the face.
  • Accessories, such as earrings, must not reflect light.
  • Accessories must not cover the outline of the face.


Infants Under 24 Months Old

  • Infants under 24 months old must follow the same passport photo requirements as adults.
  • The photo must not show toys, guardians, or other objects.
  • If an infant cannot keep the mouth closed, the mouth may be slightly open.
  • An infant’s teeth may be visible if the mouth is slightly open.
