General Photo Standards

  • The passport photo must clearly show the applicant’s full face from the front. 
  • The background must be plain white and the image must be in color.

Face and Visibility Requirements

  • The applicant’s eyes must be fully visible and unobstructed. 
  • Hair must not cover the face, forehead, or eyes, and the facial features must be shown clearly.

Glasses and Contact Lenses

  • Glasses should not be worn for the passport photo, especially if the frames or lenses obstruct the eyes. 
  • Colored cosmetic contact lenses are also not allowed.

Head Coverings and Accessories

  • Hats, caps, and other head coverings are not permitted unless specifically authorized for religious or medical reasons. 
  • Facial piercings or accessories that interfere with clear facial recognition should also be removed.

Photo Quality

  • The photo must be clear, recent, and free from retouching or digital edits. 
  • It should accurately reflect the applicant’s current appearance.
