Must be taken within the last 6 months.
Photo Size
Standard size: 35mm x 45mm.
Head Size & Position
Head (including hair) must fit within the required oval template.
Maximum head size (including hair) is 80% of the photo.
Head must be centered with a clear gap around the top and sides.
Paper Quality
Use high-quality, high-resolution photo paper.
Colour film or low gloss coated thermal papers are acceptable if printed at high resolution.
Do not use matt paper, heavy-backed thermal paper, or ink-jet prints.
Photo Quality
Must be a true likeness, not digitally altered.
Must be sharp and in focus.
No red-eye or light reflections on the face.
Background
Strong contrast between face and background is required.
No shadows.
Pose & Expression
Face the camera straight on, head upright.
Eyes open, mouth closed.
Neutral expression (no smiling or frowning).
No hair covering the eyes or face.
Glasses
Eyes must be clearly visible through glasses with no reflections.
Remove heavy-rimmed glasses.
Do not wear sunglasses or tinted lenses that obscure the eyes.
Head Coverings
No head coverings or headbands allowed unless required for religious or medical reasons.
If worn, a statutory declaration must be completed with the application.
