The applicant’s head should occupy roughly 70–80% of the image, with the distance from the chin to the top of the head typically measuring about 32–36 mm.
The photo must be in color and should have been taken within the last six months to accurately reflect the applicant’s current appearance.
Background
The background of the photograph must be plain and light colored, typically white, light grey, or light blue.
It must be free of patterns, textures, or objects.
Lighting should be even so that no shadows appear behind the head or on the background.
Face and Expression
The applicant must face the camera directly with the head centered in the frame.
