Print and Format Requirements:
The photographs must be printed in high resolution on photo-quality, non-glossy (matte) paper and must be in colour.
Each photo should measure 40 mm × 30 mm (1.58 × 1.18 inches).
Only original printed photographs are acceptable; copied or digitally scanned images are not permitted.
The photos must not be digitally altered or retouched in any way.
Low-quality, textured, faded, heat-sensitive, or photo booth images are not acceptable.
Recency and Quantity:
The photographs must have been taken within the last six (6) months.
If two photographs are required, they must be identical.
Composition and Framing:
The photograph must show a close-up of the applicant’s head and upper shoulders, with the face occupying 70–80% of the image height.
The head must be centered and upright, without any tilting.
The applicant must face the camera directly, with both sides of the face clearly visible.
The eyes should be level, forming a horizontal line parallel to the top edge of the photograph.
Facial Expression and Visibility:
The applicant must maintain a neutral facial expression, with no smiling, frowning, raised eyebrows, or other expressions.
The eyes must be open and clearly visible, with no hair covering them, and the mouth must be closed.
The face must be in sharp focus, and photographs with red-eye effects are not acceptable.
Lighting and Image Quality:
The lighting must be even and uniform, with no shadows or reflections on the face.
The photograph must have appropriate brightness and contrast to accurately represent natural skin tones.
The image must be clear and free from any creases, marks, or damage.
Background Requirements:
The background must be plain white, with no patterns, shadows, or distractions.
Attire and Accessories:
The applicant should wear normal, everyday clothing and must not wear hats or dark glasses.
Head Coverings and Exceptions:
Head coverings are only permitted for approved religious, medical, or cultural reasons.
If worn for religious purposes, a signed declaration must be provided.
In all cases, the face must remain fully visible.
Photographs with face coverings, such as masks or veils that obscure identification, are not acceptable.
Glasses Guidelines:
If glasses are worn, the eyes must be clearly visible without glare or reflections.
Tinted lenses are not allowed unless required for medical reasons, in which case a medical certificate must be provided.
Frames must not cover any part of the eyes, and heavy frames should be avoided.
Special Rules for Minors:
For minors under the age of fourteen (14), the child must be the only subject in the photograph, with no other people or objects such as toys or chair backs visible.
