Eyes must be open, level, and fully visible, with no obstruction from hair or eyeglass frames.
Reflections or glare on eyeglasses must be avoided.
Tinted or dark glasses are not permitted.
Photos must not be overexposed or underexposed.
Balanced three-point lighting is recommended.
Facial features must be clearly visible.
Diffused lighting is preferred over direct point lighting.
Infants under one year may have their eyes closed.
For children under ten, slight flexibility is allowed in face height, eye position, facial expression, and gaze direction.
The photo must still be clear, front-facing, and show only the child, with no toys, chair backs, or other people visible.
The child must look at the camera with a neutral expression and closed mouth.
