- The printed photograph must measure exactly 40 millimetres in width and 50 millimetres in height.
- For digital submissions,
If the photo is taken with a digital camera, the file must be 1600 pixels wide by 2000 pixels high.

If the photograph is scanned, it must be scanned at a resolution of 600 dpi, which corresponds to an image size of approximately 945 pixels in width and 1181 pixels in height.
In both cases, the required resolution is 600 dpi to ensure sufficient detail.
Size
- The size of the head in the photograph, measured from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head, must be between 32 and 36 millimetres, which equates to roughly 70 to 80 percent of the total image height.
Background
- Must be a plain, uniform white without patterns, textures, or shadows.
Quality of photo
- When submitting a printed photograph, the image must be printed on matte photo paper.
- The photograph must be suitable both for uploading to the online application system and for printing, as both digital and physical formats are required.
- The photograph must clearly display the applicant’s full frontal face, with unobstructed and distinct facial features.
- Head coverings are not permitted, except in cases of religious necessity, and applicants should also avoid heavy makeup as well as clothing in extremely dark or extremely light colours, as these may interfere with contrast.
- The applicant’s face must be positioned in the centre of the photograph.
- A photograph will not be accepted if the applicant is wearing glasses with frames that obscure the eyes, if hair covers the eyes or eyebrows, or if there is any reflection from a camera flash on the face or the surface of the glasses.
- Photographs showing shadows on the face or background, or images that are excessively bright or dark, are also unacceptable.
