Digital Photo Requirements

  • The digital photo must be in color with a white background. 
  • The photo should have a resolution of 300 DPI and measure 32.5 mm by 43 mm, maintaining a 3:4 aspect ratio.

Printed Photo Requirements

General Photo Standards

  • The photo must be taken within the last six months. 
  • It should display the full head and the top of the shoulders, with the face centered and occupying between 70 and 80 percent of the frame. 
  • The space between the top of the head and the top edge of the photo should be between 3 and 4 millimeters. T
  • The photo must be well-lit, avoiding overexposure or underexposure. 
  • The applicant must face forward and look directly at the camera, showing both sides of the face. Red-eye and flash reflections must be avoided. 
  • The eyes must be open, visible, and the facial expression must be neutral.

Head Covering Guidelines

  • Head coverings such as veils or ghutras are allowed for religious or cultural reasons. 
  • The entire face must remain visible, and the head covering must not cast shadows on the face.

Glasses Guidelines

  • If glasses are worn, the eyes must be clearly visible and free of reflections. 
  • The edges or frames must not obscure any part of the eyes, and thick frames should be avoided when possible. 
  • Tinted glasses or colored contact lenses that change or obscure the natural eye color are not permitted.

Children’s Photo Requirements

  • Children must appear alone in their photos. 
  • Children under five years old do not need to look directly at the camera. 
  • For children under one year old, their eyes may be closed. 
  • If a supporting hand is used to steady the child’s head, the hand must not be visible in the photo.
